Donald Trump Banned permanently From SAG-AFTRA
On Thursday former President Donald Jr. Trump has send a resignation letter to Hollywood’s largest labor union ahead of the “so-called” disciplinary hearing against him revoking his union membership.
Donald Jr.Trump wrote “I write to you today regarding the so-called Disciplinary Committee hearing aimed at revoking my union membership. Who cares!”; We can read in a signed letter to the union president Gabrielle Carteris.
He adds “While I’m not familiar with your work, I’m very proud of my work on movies such as Home Alone 2, Zoolander and Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps; and television shows including The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Saturday Night Live, and of course, one of the most successful shows in television history, The Apprentice – to name just a few!”
Donald trump wrote “Your organization has done little for its members, and nothing for me – besides collecting dues and promoting dangerous un-American policies and ideas – as evident by your massive unemployment rates and lawsuits from celebrated actors, who even recorded a video asking, ‘Why isn’t the union fighting for me?’”
In the letter he expressed his wish to no longer be part of the union, and concluded his letter“As such, this letter is to inform you of my immediate resignation from SAG-AFTRA. You have done nothing for me.”
Gabrielle Carteris the SAG-AFTRA President said in a statment that threatening or inciting harm against fellow members will not be tolerated, and he added that an attack against one is an attack against all.
In January, disciplinary charges were filed against Donald J. Trump charging him with violation of Article 14 of the Constitution, inciting insurrection against the U.S. government at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, urging and inciting anti-journalist hate that resulted in injuries and harm to SAG-AFTRA member journalists.
The SAG-AFTRA National Board, meet via Zoom on Saturday to discuss former president Donald Trump resignation letter. After discussing the disciplinary charges that were filed against him in January, the union passed a resolution in which they have banned Trump from ever rejoining the SAG-AFTRA.
President Gabrielle Carteris said “Preventing Donald Trump from ever rejoining SAG-AFTRA is more than a symbolic step, It is a resounding statement that threatening or inciting harm against fellow members will not be tolerated. An attack against one is an attack against all.”
